Do you have a local Do It Best hardware store? I couldn't find the Ringer's locally, so I ordered it online and had it shipped for free to my local Do It Best. It arrived in less than a week. Good luck.

Hi Beverly -- you can get it at Alsip down on 41 in St John. Call them first to make sure they have it in stock.
If not there, then sometimes Home Depot can order it for you.

I have used Ringer's for over 20 years, and prefer it to all the others I have used, but the last two years I have been unable to find it. Do you have a list of places that carry it? I live in Northwest Indiana. It's well worth the price because it not only produces a very thick, green lawn, but also takes care of the thatch. My lawn is the envy of the neighborhood.

I was told the soybean meal was equivalent to 7-2-2, but I don't think it is being sold as a true lawn fertilizer. Thanks for the information.

I don't know if soybean meal would be good unless you give me the analysis from the product you plan to use. Then we can convert the "pounds on the ground" to let you know how to get at least 1/2 pound of N per 1000 sq feet. It's not as easy as just "throwing something down" ... does your local feed store sell this product as a true fert for lawns?
Also, as far as organics go, no, there is no economical choice. Synthetics are always cheaper so making the choice to go natural is an expensive one, but admirable for sure!

I just put some Ringer's down on my front lawn (2 x 25 lb. bags). I have a 1 acre yard, and I would like to fertilize the rest of it organically, but the cost will be high with Ringer's. Would soybean meal be a good choice? I can get a 50 lb. at my local feed store. Are there other economical choices? Thanks.
